I have projects!!

29 Nov

But I can’t find my camera 😦 I think I left it in a friends car when we went on our fun off roading trip to George Washington National Park.  TJ drove his truck but the rear differential “grenaded” (thats what the dealership said) on the start back in so we road home with someone else since his truck got towed.

So things to get excited about and my little tidbits of inspiration pics 🙂

Has gotten a makeover inspired by this Pinterest trend:

I made my craft board Christmas ornament but I’ll wait a few weeks to reveal that here 🙂

Wednesday Weigh-In and Update on Goals/To-Do’s

23 Nov

It’s that time of the week again!!!

First up is updates on last weeks Goals and To Do List:

Goals:

  • Drink a minimum of 80 ounces of water per day.  Based on my amazing 16 ounce Copco cup at work, this is 5 cups.  Relatively Successful, I didn’t keep exact count every day but I know some days I went over.
  • Do not spend money on lunch or dinner all week. I need to watch my spending, as well as my food intake. Complete and utter success.  In fact I only spent money on lunch once this week!

Things That Need to Get Done:

  • Clean and organize: the office, laundry room, guest bedroom, master bedroom/closets/bathroom: Done
  • Clean the kitchen and finally take things off of the counter: I actually put away about 1/2 of the stuff!: Done
  • Do something with the three boxes of unpacked junk in the living room: They got condensed to two boxes, and stacked.  I did something with them 🙂
  • Finish Start my office lamp project.  I know what I want to do with it, just need to DO it.: Finally got TJ to help my draw a straight line on it so I can draw
  • Feed horses all mornings (like normal), Mom’s coming home today so I’m done with evenings!: Fed all mornings, Mom ended up not coming home until Friday and went back Monday.
  • Take down Pirate Pumpkin, he has some pretty horrible arm pit funk.: Pirate Pumpkin was buried in the ditch by the cow field with the other pumkins.  RIP.
  • Transform Halloween wreath in to Fall/Thanksgiving wreath: Need to find a way to make the fall add-on stay (not dropping any hints yet): Need that sucker to stay on, will be done tonight.
  • Mail Crafts Board Christmas Ornament: FAIL. I have an excuse though. My grandfather had a massive heart attack, had a stint inserted to help out, and now has a mild case of pneumonia.
  • Mail personal property tax for the house (Yaayyyyyy for being a homeowner ): Again, FAIL. I do have until 12/5 to mail it though 🙂

From last week:

Body Stats day of accident: 18 years old, 98 lbs, 2% body fat, size 2 jeans, size XS-S everything else, 34A Bra, 5’4″

Body Stats last week (11/16): 24 years old, 166 lbs, size 12 jeans that are getting a little loose, size large everything else, 36DDD bra, 5’2″ (I shrunk somewhere :) )

And my goals:

Goal weight #1: 150 lbs.  I want to be able to get on the package scale at work and not have it read ERR

Goal weight #2: 130 lbs.

Final Goal Weight: 120 lbs.

This mornings weigh-in puts me at: 164 lbs.  That is a loss of 2 lbs!! I’m officially in the 15lb range of goal one.  I’m sure tomorrow will kick my butt but I’m doing good so far 🙂

14 lbs to go until the first goal, how are you guys doing on your goals!

Wednesday Weigh In

16 Nov

Today is ugly.  No seriously, I would take a picture of the ugli-ness outside my window but I don’t want to depress anyone. It’s raining, it’s been raining since last night.  This means the horses decided to stand out in the rain and eat hay instead of stand in their nice roomy run-in shed.  This means they were stinky and wet this morning and tried to rub their stinky, wet, and filthy heads against me.

Updates from yesterdays to-do/goal list:

Goals:

  • Drink a minimum of 80 ounces of water per day.  Based on my amazing 16 ounce Copco cup at work, this is 5 cups.  Tuesday: Success, actually drank 6/5! Today: I’m at 1/5 😦 Need to get drinkin.
  • Do not spend money on lunch or dinner all week. I need to watch my spending, as well as my food intake.  Monday Lunch: Thai food (boss treated me to lunch for 2 years with the company), Monday Dinner: Chicken Cordon Bleu with Rice Pilaf. Tuesday Lunch: Leftovers from Dinner. Tuesday Dinner: Baked Spaghetti from Pinterest (more to come) Wednesday Lunch: Leftovers from dinner.

Things That Need to Get Done:

  • Clean and organize: the office, laundry room, guest bedroom, master bedroom/closets/bathroom
  • Clean the kitchen and finally take things off of the counter: I actually put away about 1/2 of the stuff!
  • Do something with the three boxes of unpacked junk in the living room
  • Finish Start my office lamp project.  I know what I want to do with it, just need to DO it.
  • Feed horses all mornings (like normal), Mom’s coming home today so I’m done with evenings!
  • Take down Pirate Pumpkin, he has some pretty horrible arm pit funk.
  • Transform Halloween wreath in to Fall/Thanksgiving wreath: Need to find a way to make the fall add-on stay (not dropping any hints yet)
  • Mail Crafts Board Christmas Ornament
  • Mail personal property tax for the house (Yaayyyyyy for being a homeowner )

And the important part that I try to put off every week:

From last week:

Body Stats day of accident: 18 years old, 98 lbs, 2% body fat, size 2 jeans, size XS-S everything else, 34A Bra, 5’4″

Body Stats last week (11/9): 24 years old, 166 lbs, size 12 jeans that are getting a little loose, size large everything else, 36DDD bra, 5’2″ (I shrunk somewhere :) )

And my goals:

Goal weight #1: 150 lbs.  I want to be able to get on the package scale at work and not have it read ERR

Goal weight #2: 130 lbs.

Final Goal Weight: 120 lbs.

This mornings weigh-in puts me at: 166 lbs… while this isn’t any true progress I had a tough week.  No excuse.  I gained 1.5 lbs and lost it again so at least I’m not ending at a higher number.

16 lbs to go until the first goal, how are you guys doing on your goals!

This Week’s To-Do’s

15 Nov

Since it is Tuesday already, and I have a lot of things I need to accomplish by Friday, I am going to put it out there for the world to see and make me accountable.

I need to watch my spending, as well as my food intake.  Yesterday my boss and a coworker took me for Thai food to celebrate being with the company for 2 years **Woooo Love Thai Food** Last night I made Chicken Cordon Bleu and Rice Pilaf. Today’s lunch is leftovers from dinner (you will see this as a theme by the end of the week).  Tonight I’m planning on making a baked spaghetti recipe I found on Pinterest, I will let you all know how that goes.

This is one of those weeks that waking up at 0430 is a good thing.

Happy Veteran’s Day

11 Nov

So it’s 11/11/11! It is also Veteran’s day, which one is more important?  Some might say 11/11/11 because its all cool and there are two times today that it will be 11:11:11 on 11/11/11 HOW COOL IS THAT? Well if it wasn’t for Veteran’s we would have 11/11/11 and other cool stuff.  So Happy Veteran’s Day.  Did you follow that? No? Well damn. And because of Veteran’s I can say damn in my blog.

I have several Veteran’s in my family.  My grandfather is an Army Vet from the Vietnam era, he can tell you some good stories all about Nam, most of them came from someone else since he spent a lot of time in Germany.  But where he was doesn’t matter, he was still awesome! He also won’t let me put a picture of himself on the Internet for the fear that someone will come and find him and talk to him.

My brother is active Air Force, let me introduce you to Master Sergent Jacobs.

So serious!

He has had multiple deployments and traveled the world.  He is also “blinged out” as the kiddos say.

You see all that bling? He has more, its hidden under dad’s arm. You can also tell from this that we all have my fathers squinty eyes and slight dimples.  This was taken when Jay was getting married.  If you look closely at his shirt, under the bow tie, something looks….not right.  Well that my friends is because Jay had a turtle shell on.  He had been in a parachuting accident about a month prior to this and had a broken vertebra.  It was pretty fun trying to find him pants that fit.

I have more friends than I can name that have served.  Some have lost their lives, some have come home, some are still in danger.

ALL deserve a big huge Thank You today and everyday.  It shouldn’t take a special day on the calendar to make you thank our troops.

Wednesday Weigh In

9 Nov

Its another beautiful Wednesday! I’ve noticed a few impressive changes in myself and my body lately.  I’m generally a happier person with a little more energy, I am eating less and feeling full, my pants are loose, my tummy isn’t hanging out there as much 🙂

TJ started taking a multivitamin this week and he is also feeling better, I’ve been trying to get that to happen for a while but until it is their decision you can not force anyone into life changes.

So for the juicy and important part of this weeks weigh in post!

From last week:

Body Stats day of accident: 18 years old, 98 lbs, 2% body fat, size 2 jeans, size XS-S everything else, 34A Bra, 5’4″

Body Stats last week (11/2): 24 years old, 168 lbs, size 12 jeans, size large everything else, 36DDD bra, 5’2″ (I shrunk somewhere :) )

And my goals:

Goal weight #1: 150 lbs.  I want to be able to get on the package scale at work and not have it read ERR

Goal weight #2: 130 lbs.

Final Goal Weight: 120 lbs.

Drum roll please!

This mornings weigh-in puts me at: 166 lbs! That is -2 lbs from last week!

16 lbs to go until the first goal, how are you guys doing on your goals!

Wednesday Weigh In

2 Nov

No this isn’t a weight in of the little devil cat.  Although I’m thinking it should be, that would be more attractive. Its quite hard to get her on the scale, unless she’s at the vet.  She loves the vet, the vet loves her.  She hasn’t bitten or scratched or tried to devour one of the vet techs.  She does all of these things to me and TJ on a daily basis.

I’m getting off topic. I guess I should give some backstory so y’all don’t think I’m just a twenty-something with a problem of keeping her hands away from her mouth.  Although…I love me some food 🙂

Summer 2005- I was working for a horse trainer for the summer.  I was given a few yearlings that I was working to get ready for shows and auctions in halter classes.  I had this awesome little paint colt I was working to polish up for shows.  I was also given a 4 year old Appendix QH (1/2 Thoroughbred 1/2 Quarter Horse) that I was told had 90 days of riding, knew the basics, was a little nervous with people on the ground, and just needed some “polishing”. Yeah….he needed polishing alright. I had worked with him several times on the ground and he was absolutely nervous, but was never mean.

D-Day-Actually I think it was a Wednesday (haha) or maybe it was Tuesday.  I don’t remember much.  What I do remember: I had just finished feeding and the yearlings were brushed.  The trainer and her husband (the farrier) had tacked up the project horse for me and wanted me to do a test ride on him that evening before leaving.  What they didn’t tell me: they had tranquilized him enough for a horse twice his weight. With the farrier holding him I stepped up to put some weight on his back to feel how he reacted.  His reaction: HOLY SHIT THE PEOPLE CAN FLY AND THEY ARE GOING TO EAT ME.  He broke loose from the farrier and went bucking around the pen trying to brush me off on anything he could.  He finally got me off on the gate and I pulled a superman stunt, flipped and landed flat on my back on solid packed red clay with sand that needed some rain.

Things I knew right away (or thought I did): 1) I had a concussion, a damn bad concussion.  I was seeing double, I was dizzy, and nauseous.  This wasn’t my first rodeo, and definitely not my first concussion. 2) Holy cow I hurt! From my knees to my ears, I was radiating pain. 3) Closest Hospital=45 minutes 4)Cell phone service= 5 minutes out 5) Not staying here with these crazies.

The trainer let me drive home with a happy “See you in the morning”. I drove (slowly—i think) until I got cell service and called my mom.  She offered to come pick me up but it would be 2 hours til she got there, I decided for her to just stay on the phone and we would see how it went.  I drove straight to my apartment (90 minute drive) and went and laid down.  I woke up every two hours, and took care of my concussion, but like I dumb 18 year-old “tough as nails” kid, didn’t go to the hospital.

6 days later I went to the hospital.  5 days too late for them to do anything. My injuries included: a fractured vertebra, rotated spine, rotated and tilted pelvis (my pelvis was already tilted from a congenital defect), severe concussion, pulled every muscle from my ears to my thighs, and severe bruising and road rash.  I was given pain pills and muscle relaxers and told to “keep it easy”.  Heres a picture from that night, what you can’t see is that the swelling was about 4″ out from my body.  The star isn’t normally crooked like that.

Bruising

I went to the big horse show/auction that next weekend.  I showed my little ass off and brought home a decent futurity win check.  The next day I quit my job.

When I had my appointment with my orthopedic surgeon (he’s helped me through a lot) I was told: no more running, no more riding, no lifting over 20# (later raised to 50#), no strenuous activities, and if I knew you would listen I would put you on bed rest. Ouch.

I decided not to return to Ohio for my Sophomore year so I could stay with my ortho, chiropractor, and PT and instead took classes at my community college so I wouldn’t fall behind.

Body Stats day of accident: 18 years old, 98 lbs, 2% body fat, size 2 jeans, size XS-S everything else, 34A Bra, 5’4″

Body Stats today: 24 years old, 168 lbs, size 12 jeans, size large everything else, 36DDD bra, 5’2″ (I shrunk somewhere 🙂 )

So starting today I am becoming accountable for my weight.  I am in constant pain, and that will never change.  I realize that 98 lbs is no longer a possibility, healthy, or attractive.  I never dieted or tried to maintain that low of a weight, I was incredibly active with an awesome metabolism.  Unfortunately I left that metabolism in the dirt.

Goal weight #1: 150 lbs.  I want to be able to get on the package scale at work and not have it read ERR

Goal weight #2: 130 lbs.

Final Goal Weight: 120 lbs.

I have 18 lbs to go for goal #1.  I’ll be back next Wednesday to see how I’m doing.
